We celebrated Women's Day with a protest event organized by the Covides Women's Commission.

On Saturday 7 March, on the occasion of International Women's Day, the Covides women's commission organized an act.

The event took place in the courtyard of the Covides headquarters in Vilafranca del Penedés and began at 6 pm with a photographic exhibition entitled "La dona a pagès" with photographs loaned by the Regional Council and the partners themselves.

Then there were some speeches by the President of Covides, Mr. Felix Galimany and a representative of each of the three entities collaborating in the event: Mr. Juanjo Raventos, head of the wine branch of the FCAC (Federation of agricultural cooperatives of Catalonia), Ms. Sílvia Pérez, Councillor of Agriculture and Housing of the Regional Council of Alt Penedès and Ms. Montse Arroyo, councillor of Equality of the City Council of Vilafranca.

Afterwards, the journalist Ester Vivas delighted the audience with a very interesting talk with the name of "agriculture from a feminist perspective".

This was followed by a very lively discussion among the attendees, which continued with a tasting of Cava Brut Reserva Terra Terrae carried out by the technical director of Covides.

The event closed with a standing dinner.

Xavi Diaz, a guitar duo, entertained the event musically.

The event was a success in terms of attendance, as it brought together some 120 people, basically members and workers of the cooperative, but also women from the region who wanted to join in.
